North Charleston, SC: A shocking video released by a brave and anonymous witness, revealed that North Charleston Police officer, Michael T. Slager, shot and killed an unarmed man, Walter Scott, while he was fleeing. The graphic and telling video, contradicts the, now former, officer’s report that he feared for his life. It has not been revealed Slager has officially been fired from the force after being charged with murder. The NAACP has also released a response to the tragedy on social media, in the wake of far too many shootings of unarmed black men by white police officers.
Michael T. Slager has been fired from North Charleston Police Department and is currently in custody facing charges of murder.
