The official Mega Millions lottery website is reporting on the luck of one recent winner, writing:

“February 27, 2015 - Ten Powerball tickets and ten Mega Millions tickets - purchased once a week, from whichever New Jersey Lottery retailer is most convenient. That’s the regular lottery routine of Marianna Lauro, and it paid off big-time when she won $1 million on a Mega Millions ticket purchased for the January 30 drawing. Among her plans for the winnings are college funds for her two grandsons.

“Lauro’s ticket correctly matched the first five numbers drawn on January 30 – 18, 31, 39, 45 and 55, just missing the Mega Ball number (6).”

The site goes on to report on another winner:

“February 24, 2015 - Naperville, Ill., resident Jesus Davila Jr. became the winner of the largest prize in Illinois Lottery history when the first line of numbers on his $5 Quick Pick ticket matched all six numbers – 26 - 32 - 44 - 45 - 58 - (11) – to win the jackpot in the Friday, January 16, Mega Millions drawing. That day, he was the only person—among the millions who bought tickets in 44 states, Washington DC, and the U.S. Virgin Islands—to match all six numbers.
“Today Illinois Lottery officials presented Davila a $265 million oversized check at the James R Thompson Center in Chicago to commemorate his history-making win.
