Fans and critics alike have rejoiced at Dazed and Confused actor Matthew McConaughey's recent run of quality Hollywood blockbusters, but word has it that his wife, Camila Alves, has had just about enough of the work overload. According to the latest gossip news updates, the Dallas Buyer's Club Oscar winner has been taking so many new roles in television and movies that the 32-year-old mother of three feels like she's raising their children all by herself. Apparently, the Lincoln spokesman is reportedly going to have to either work a whole lot less or come to terms with getting a divorce.
Most actors on a role in Hollywood have enough sense to keep making movie after movie until they inevitably make enough box office bombs that they are relegated to the recesses of Tinsel Town once again, but Camila Alves is said to care more about raising her family with a committed partner than having one more Oscar sitting over her hearth.
A source close to the fray told Star Magazine that Matthew McConaughey's wife is at her wits end dealing with his incessant need to word himself to death (via CelebDirtyLaundry):
"The Oscar-winning actor and his wife Camila Alves have been fighting non-stop over his hectic work schedule.
"Matthew currently has four films in the works, which leaves Camila to care for the couple's three children.
"She wants more balance, but he's refusing to lose momentum in his career."
According to the spy, Matthew tells Camila that he is working to support the family's future, but in actuality he is using this string of movies to get a little space:
"Matthew thinks that Camila should be grateful for the great life he is able to give their family, but she didn't sign up to basically be a single mom.
"Matthew lived the life of a carefree, wandering dude for so long.
"Taking so many jobs gives him that alone time back."
As much as his female fans might like to believe the rumors, Gossip Cop spoke to an informant that explained that distance wasn't really a problem for the McConaughey's no matter how many big budget blockbusters Matthew signs on to do:
"She and the kids are with him...[the family] travels everywhere he goes...they are never apart."
If Camila didn't leave him over those Lincoln commercials...then nothing will make her go.
