‘TFIOS’ Boyfriend Ansel Elgort to Replace Theo James in Shailene Woodley ‘Divergent’ Make Out Scenes? [UPDATE]

Ansel Elgort did his best to convince the Divergent audience that he had shelved all the chemistry that he shared with White Bird in a Blizzard sex-symbol Shailene Woodley on The Fault in Our Stars, but behind the scenes it was a different story. According to the latest gossip news updates, Ansolo would make jokes about standing in for Shai's Insurgent boyfriend, Theo James, during the days on the set when the Underworld action star wasn't feeling up to doing the heavy lifting himself.

Whether Ansel Elgort is a method actor or not the 20-year-old EDM DJ told People that it wasn't always the easiest thing transitioning to the role of Shailene Woodley's brother on Insurgent after sharing such intimate scenes in the heartwarming instant classic, The Fault in Our Stars.

Ansel joked than if ever Theo James seemed less than up for the challenge, he would quickly jump at the chance to make out with Woodley in his stead:

"I asked Theo if it was alright [to kiss Shailene because] he wasn't feeling well.

"I said, 'Listen, I've done it before,' and guys that do the visual effects in this movie are good, so they could have easily changed our bodies and it would have been cool."

While Elgort has been doing his best to keep his desires for his Divergent sister in check onset, Shai told People that her character also spends the second film in the series doing her best to deal with her inner demons.

Shailene explains that anyone that went through all the traumatic events Tris did in the first novel would need at least a movie or two to clear her head:

"We find her a little bit numb and confused. She doesn't know who she is.

"The loss of her parents and her friend make her feel like she is unstoppable in her quest for justice.

"In this film, Tris is fueled by the demons that haunt her from Divergent."

According to James, Tris' trauma's even start to affect their relationship in the upcoming sequel:

"They are two damaged people who are trying to struggle through a war."

Let's just hope that Ansel Elgort isn't too damaged from watching Theo manhandle Shai in every other scene to return for the last two Allegiant movies.
