Shailene Woodley ‘Divergent’ Boyfriend Theo James Talks Privacy after ‘White Bird in a Blizzard’ Netflix Release [VIDEO NEWS]

While the rest of his Divergent co-stars may love the free publicity that social media platforms like Instagram and Twitter afford them, Shailene Woodley's Insurgent boyfriend, Theo James, wants nothing to do with it. According to the latest gossip news updates, the Underworld action star is afraid that if he starts posting pictures of his dates with girlfriend, Ruth Kearney, to Facebook, then his private life won't ever truly be private again. Despite her increasing popularity, even Woodley fails to have an official Instagram account like her Fault In Out Stars co-star, Ansel Elgort, which is a shame because she could use it to promote the recent release of White Bird in A Blizzard to Netflix.

At 30-years-old, Theo James, hardly seems old enough to be one of those Hollywood stars hell-bent on staying out of the social media scene at any costs, but the British beau has sworn off the idea of posting his personal life for the public to see, indefinitely.

In a recent interview with Flaunt Magazine, James ensured his adoring public that they need not hold there breathe for his private Twitter thoughts, because it's never going to happen:

"I don't have it and I never will

"I'm glad there's not much information.

"I don't think I'd want to share those elements of my private life."

James went on to further explain that he understood that plenty of people were able to use it for their own benefit, but he just saw social media as one more unwelcome portal into his private life:

"Other actors I know are really good at it and they rock and roll it, but it's not for me.

"If I post a picture of us having a drink now and get loads of views or comments and stuff, then suddenly you're quite exposed and you're in a world of work."

Although it often seems like just about every celebrity has Instagram and Twitter among a bevy of other social media platforms from which to inform their fans of every aspect of their projects and careers, even Shailene Woodley has yet to sign up for an official Instagram account, which is a shame, because then she wouldn't have to leave it to Decider.com to get the word out that her risqué new coming of age story, White Bird in a Blizzard, was finally available for streaming on Netflix:

"In this novel adaptation, Shailene Woodley stars as Kat Connors, your average teen dealing with the not-so-average aftermath of her emotionally abusive mother (played by Eva Green) having gone missing.

"As Kat comes down from relishing in her newfound freedom, reality sets in that her mother may never come home."

It seems a little ironic that the leads of a franchise set in the future seem so resistant to embrace modern technology.
