NFL Reggie Bush Not Retiring from Professional Football: What's Next for the All-Star Running Back?

Reggie Bush is one of the most popular players in the NFL -- and sports, in general. It was recently revealed that the All-Star would no longer be playing with the Lions. Some might think that this would be a natural stopping point for the aging brute. However, in a recent interview, Reggie made it perfectly clear that he has no intentions of slowing down. In turn, fans sit poised on the edge of their seats as they wait to see which team Bush signs with next. After reading one source's analysis, it is easy to see that even if Bush brings a fraction of the intensity that he is famous for, then he will continue to be one of football's greatest performers.

Before his time as a professional, Bush played college ball for the University of South Carolina. During this time, he was named All-American twice, and he won the prestigious Heisman Trophy.

Predictably, he earned a second overall pick by the New Orleans Saints in the 2006 NFL Draft. Four short years later, he was led the Saints to a Super Bowl Victory.

Throughout his career, he has played for a number of different teams. Now, another switch looms around the corner, and according to a report by TMZ Sports, Reggie feels he will be in the NFL for many years to come:

"It sucks to be released...no doubt...but Reggie Bush [said] he's not giving up on the NFL just because he got cut by the Detroit Lions. Just 24 hours after the Lions announced the move, Bush was out at Madeo in Beverly Hills...when we asked if it was time to throw in the towel on his football career, Bush was clear that ain't gonna happen. It's not the craziest question ... considering Bush is about to turn 30..."

For some, it is a terrifying thing to known that Reggie "The Beast" Bush is still alive and kicking. However, after reading this report by JockBio, Bush fans are reminded of his contribution to the sport:

"Speed kills. If that sports axiom is true, then Reggie Bush is pro football's deadliest assassin...Reggie is a life-giving force who has helped [those in need] see better days in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. [Also,] That was certainly the case in his rookie season when he led the once hapless franchise to within a win of the Super Bowl. Now...defensive coaches around the league spend sleepless nights working on ways to slow Reggie down..."
