San Antonio Spurs Earl Watson's Elderly LA Tenants Home Invasion Drama

Throughout his life, former NBA Star Earl Watson was never known for his speed or athleticism. Nevertheless, his extreme intelligence and analytical mind paved the way for his successful professional career in basketball. In recent news, armed men in ski masks robbed the elderly tenants living in Watson's $4 million dollar mansion. This is the first news fans have heard on Watson since last year when he announced his retirement from play and his new coaching position with a NBA Developmental league.

Before his time as a professional, Watson played college ball at UCLA. During that time, he played along side future NBA All-Star Baron Davis.

The duo was the first freshman to start in a UCLA basketball game since 1979. Watson went on to be named All-Pac 10 First Team member.

His consistent performances earned him a 2nd round draft pick by the Seattle Supersonics in 2001. As is pointed out by Cleveland.com, he was never expected to go far as a pro:

"After 13 years, point guard Earl Watson will retire from the NBA to accept a coaching position with the San Antonio Spurs' NBA Development League affiliate, the Austin Toros...Watson, 35, finishes up a phenomenal NBA career in which he was never the fastest or the most athletic, but was simply intelligent and efficient. His basketball mind is like no other. He studies the game thoroughly. That's how he made it this far."

Now, Watson continues to have a career in basketball, and apparently he has done pretty well for himself. However, according to TMZ Sports, he recently suffered a huge loss:

"L.A. mansion owned [and] former NBA player Earl Watson was robbed Monday night by at least 4 men in ski masks, who handcuffed the occupants and ransacked the place. While 35-year-old Watson owns the $4 million Encino home, he currently rents it out to a local elderly couple. Officials say the men, at least one of who had a gun, broke in through a back door and once inside, they handcuffed the couple and stole various items...including cash."
