Hope Solo Returning to Women's US Team After Domestic Violence Talk, Husband's Drunk Driving Suspension

The U.S. Women's soccer team has been a dominant force in the international women's division since its establishment in 1991. When a team is this successful, its individual players tend to draw a lot of attention. In recent news, the team's goalkeeper, Hope Solo, announced that she is ready to come back and play, if her team will have her. Fans have heard a lot from Solo sense her suspension stemming from her husband driving a bus drunk and accusations of domestic violence surfaced.

Before her time as an international soccer star, Solo attended the University of Washington. During that time, she made the permanent switch to goalkeeper. In turn, she became the top goalie in Pac-10 history. She finished her time in Washington as the school's all-time leader in shutouts and saves.

Now, Solo is considered to be one of the sports top players. However, as is suggested by TMZ Sports, her team might not have her back after her recent suspension and drunk driving husband scandal:

"Hope Solo is back in L.A...and ready to rejoin her Team USA soccer teammates when her suspension ends, but question is -- do they want her back? We got Hope flying back into LAX Monday...four days before the end of her 30-day suspension for allowing her allegedly drunk husband, Jerramy Stevens to drive a team shuttle. It's the first time she's talking since his arrest..."

True, Hope has made a definitive name for herself with her athletic abilities. However, according to CNN, she is also known for her controversial activities:

"Domestic Assault charges against U.S. women's soccer star Hope Solo were dismissed by a judge in Washington...her attorney said. 'Today's decision brings closure to what has been one of the most difficult and emotionally draining times of my life,' Solo said on Facebook. 'I always had faith that once the facts of the case were presented, I would be cleared of all charges and I am so happy and relieved to finally have it all behind me ...'"
