Between Us Theater Co. is set to play "ACCESS DENIED," a short production written and starred by Emile Aslan Lacheny.

This will be featured at the International Human Rights Art Festival 2024 (IHRAF), which was established in 2017.

The festival aims to stress human rights issues through various artistic expressions. This season, 60 new performances will be showed from December 9 to 15, musicals, dances, and one-act plays.

According to Broadway World, "ACCESS DENIED" is part of the festival's "Celebration of Immigration" evening, which will also show four other short plays centered around immigration themes.

Lacheny explores the challenges faced by immigrants and minorities, particularly the barriers that often obstruct their paths. He describes how the environment may seem welcoming at first glance, yet it is structured to maintain exclusion.

IHRAF's mission is to inspire social change by amplifying the voices of artists who address critical human rights topics, while Between Us Theater Co. focuses on storytelling that reflects the immigrant experience.

Directed by Annie Kefalas, the play features a cast of four, including Lacheny himself, Emily Ann Banks, KiYonna Carr, and Ben R.B. Miller.

"ACCESS DENIED" is set to take the stage on December 11, 2024 at The Tank in 312 West 36th Street in New York City.
