George Clooney will feature in the Broadway production of "Good Night, and Good Luck."
This gripping drama will make its debut at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York City on March 12, 2025, with a big opening night planned for April 3, 2025.
The narrative of Edward R. Murrow, a well-known broadcast journalist of the 1950s, is based on the 2005 film of the same name. Clooney will play Murrow, who valiantly opposes the divisive political tactics of the infamous Wisconsin senator Joseph McCarthy.
The film received significant acclaim for Clooney's direction, intriguing writing, breathtaking photography, precise production design, and noteworthy performances, particularly by David Strathairn. It received six Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor for Strathairn.
David Cromer will be directing the Broadway adaptation, while Clooney and Grant Heslov worked on the script.
The "ER" actor said in a statement, "I am honored, after all these years, to be coming back to the stage and especially to Broadway, the art form and the venue that every actor aspires to."
Meanwhile, Cromer said, "Edward R. Murrow operated from a kind of moral clarity that feels vanishingly rare in today's media landscape."
"There was an immediacy in those early live television broadcasts that today can only be effectively captured on stage, in front of a live audience."
Exclusive Amex Presale Tickets can be secured for the upcoming Broadway show starting November 12 at 10 AM ET until November 15 at 3:59 PM.
