Floyd Mayweather Jr. is the most decorated and highly revered athlete in the sport of boxing at this time. Manny Pacquiao seems to be the only other fighter remaining on his level. Mayweather recently "set the record straight," and stated that no fight between the two has been set in stone as of yet. Furthermore, Floyd doesn't seem considered with any upcoming bouts anyway. Instead, reports are claiming that he is more focused on dropping hundreds of thousands on rare luxury vehicles.
Before his time as a professional, Mayweather held an amateur record of 84-6. Also, he earned a bronze medal and reached the semi-finals of the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.
All in all, he has come a long way since then. Now, he is a five-division world champ with ten world titles. Impressively, he holds championship belts across four different weight classes.
Some reports suggest that Mayweather's talent is genetic, because his father was also a talented fighter. However, others say that Floyd's ability in the ring is simply a gift from God.
Frankly, the end result is what really matters, and according to ESPN, Mayweather's end resulted is landing on the doorstep of the legendary Manny Pacquiao:
"Floyd Mayweather Jr., with reports continuing to swirl that a deal with Manny Pacquiao on a May megafight is very close...sought to set the record straight in a TV interview Sunday night broadcast from the NBA All-Star Game...[saying,] 'No, that's not true," Mayweather said when asked...whether a fight was set and whether he had signed a contract. "Um, I haven't signed yet...It's just been speculations and rumors. But hopefully we can make the fight happen.'"
Mayweather is known for his pride and knack for drama. According to TMZ Sports, the champ seems to be more interested in spending sprees than boxing records:
"The spending spree continues...now Floyd Mayweather dropped another $400k on a brand new Rolls-Royce...Floyd called up Obi Okeke at Fusion Luxury Motors around 2AM a few days ago and ordered up a clean white 2015 Rolls-Royce Wraith. Okeke says Mayweather explained that he'd be giving the car to his daughter's mother -- because he wants the kid to 'ride in style.' Okeke tells us he IMMEDIATELY started moving on the car -- and shipped it to Vegas later that day."
