At one point, Washington's Robert Griffin III was one of the most exciting names in football. He looked hot coming off an impressive college career and the victory of the Heisman Trophy. Now, though, Griffin has transformed into something of a pariah. On the upside though, he recently posted a picture on Twitter featuring his pregnant wife's baby bump. It seems that their relationship is going strong. At least Griffin has something good going for him, because analysts are saying that the future of his career looks uncertain and meek.
Before his time as a professional, RG3 played college ball for Baylor University. During that time, he was considered the fourth-best dual threat quarterback in college football. Moreover, he increased his recruit appeal by winning the 2011 Heisman Trophy Award.
His long list of accomplishments and consistent performances earned him a second overall pick by the Washington Redskins in the 2012 NFL Draft. That same year he received the Offensive Player of the Year Award.
Since then, things haven't faired quite as well for the young athlete. Nevertheless, a report by TMZ Sports suggest that RG3 is happy regardless of his football troubles:
"Robert Griffin III just announced his wife is pregnant with their very first child!! [He] made the announcement on Twitter [saying]: 'BIG thank you for making this birthday a special day!!! This year's gift will change our life forever!!! #BoyOrGirl' The photo is interesting though...considering his wife Rebecca seemed to make a point to include a shot of her ring finger...[could have been] a statement about the state of her marriage...after reports [that] suggested things may have been rocky at home..."
Let's hope that things continue to go smoothing in Griffin's home life, because, according to the Huffington Post, the one-time great soon may need all the support he can get:
"Few people can boast the kind of resume that RG3 as compiled. He's won the Heisman, rocks a fierce sock game, and even made having Subway [seem good] Above and beyond that though, he put up one of the most dynamic rookie seasons ever seen in the NFL - and just as quickly, his time in Washington, and perhaps as a starter in the league, are likely over just a year and a half later."
