French Montana Wins Chris Paul's Celebrity Bowling Fundraiser, New Super Bowl Sunday Tradition?

L.A. Clippers' superstar point guard, Chris Paul, is known for his skills on a basketball court, but it is becoming more and more prevalent that he is also an accomplished bowler. Paul's annual celebrity bowling competition titled, "The CP3 Fundraiser," has become a tradition for Super Bowl Sunday. This year had a surprising victor. The strange skipping style of rapper French Montana was effective and a little goofy, but, in the end, it was enough to earn Montana a win.

Before his time as a professional basketball player, Chris Paul played college ball for the Wake Forest University. He only stayed there for two years, but during that time he led the school to their first number 1 ranking.

Not long after that, he was bought into the big league by the New Orleans hornets in the 2005 NBA Draft. Since then, Paul has stacked up an impressive repertoire of achievements. He has won the NBA Rookie of the Year Award, an Olympic Gold Medal and led the NBA in assists three times.

In general, he is considered one of the top players in pro basketball, and he is, to say the least, a central unit in the Clippers' formula for success. Even though his basketball skills are great, his skills as a bowler are also gaining a lot of respect.

According to Bowler's Journal, Paul's annual celebrity bowling tournament has become something of a tradition for Super Bowl Sunday:

"The CP3 fundraiser, which will again include a diverse group of celebrities and PBA Tour stars, has become a tradition on Super Bowl Sunday...Proceeds from the special event benefit charities supported by Paul's CP3 Foundation. Paul, an accomplished bowler, founded his CP3 Foundation in 2005 as a tribute to his late grandfather, Nathaniel Jones, and the Winston-Salem, N.C., community where he grew up. The foundation has provided funding for activities ranging from a scholarship program to food drives..."

It seems that, like many athletes, Paul is a Jack-of-all-trades. Still, his multiple strikes were not enough to take him to the winner's circle this time around. In fact, according to reports by Hip-Hop-X, this year's victor was a complete surprise:

"Who knew French Montana can bowl? The Excuse My French rapper and his partner, Ronnie Russell, won Chris Paul's CP3 PBA Celebrity Invitational on February 1. Montana and Russell outperformed Nick Cannon, Chris Hardwick, Chris Paul, Terrell Owens and other pro - celebrity tandems. ESPN aired the annual event yesterday after it pulled the Los Angeles Lakers vs. the New York Knicks matchup from its programming schedule earlier in the week."
