After Ray Rice Domestic Violence Handling, Roger Goodell Criticized Over Deflate-Gate

Roger Goodell hasn't even held the position of NFL Commissioner for ten years, and he has been criticized more than any of his predecessors combined. Now, reports are saying that former Golden State coach, Mark Jackson, has spoken out against Goodell and the new "Deflate-Gate" scandal. Jackson needs to get in line, because the list of people who have criticized Goodell goes on and on. The P.O.T.U.S even had choice words with the commish' after the mishandling of the Ray Rice domestic violence situation.

Roger took the position in August of 2006 when he replaced Paul Tagliabue. He won a close vote over four other contestants and has been described as the most powerful man in sports.

The majority of people would say that he is misusing and abusing his power.

All in all, this is quite surprising, because he has been involved with the league for many years. Reportedly, his career originally started as an administrative intern under then-commissioner Pete Rozell.

One would think that after thirty years of experience, Goodell would have encountered less controversy. However, according to TMZ Sports, some think he is just not meant for the job:

"Deflate-Gate -- or anything like Deflate-Gate -- would NEVER happen in the NBA...because Adam Silver doesn't SUCK like Roger Goodell...so says ex-NBA coach Mark Jackson. The former Golden State Warriors head coach strongly believes the issues in the NFL trickle down from horrible leadership -- and says the buck ultimately stops with Goodell. 'The issue is how poorly the Commissioner and the league is handling the entire situation [Deflate-Gate],' Jackson says...'It's been a horrible year.'"

Deflate-Gate is on everyone's lips right now, and people are looking to Goodell for answers. Unfortunately, they may never get them, as Yahoo Sports reports that even the President chipped in on the Ray Rice case after Goodell failed to deliver:

"It was a clear penalty flag from the President of the United States, who on Friday whistled NFL commissioner Roger Goodell for his handling of the Ray Rice situation. Goodell and the NFL have been under intense scrutiny by everyone, and even President Barack Obama took notice. Obama said that he hoped the Rice situation at least brought attention to a problem that may have been overlooked."
