Just as Idina Menzel is wrapping up her Broadway run of If/Then, it has just been announced that she has new job working for Ellen. According to the latest gossip news updates, Frozen's "Let It Go" singer will be staring in a new TV show produced by DeGeneres. After admitting that she can't always hit every single high note during her live performances, word has it that folks are actually betting on whether or not she flubs her performance of the national anthem at the Super Bowl this evening. The Wicked actress claims she doesn't mind if people want to bet against her -- she's just glad they're thinking about her.
Idina Menzel may be leaving Broadway, but the Frozen hit maker certainly won't be disappearing from the spot light for long.
In a report released last Friday Dealine broke the news that Tayer Diggs ex-wife with soon be starring in a new family comedy:
"TV and Ellen DeGeneres' studio-based A Very Good Production are already looking ahead to the 2015-16 development cycle with a half-hour comedy project starring Idina Menzel.
"Written by Randi Barnes (Legends Of Oz: Dorothy's Return), Happy Time is described as a comedy about a woman (Menzel) in the public eye who's ready to stop pretending she's so damned happy all the time."
Production on the new series is slated to start this summer, but in the meantime Idina has a Super Bowl performance to prepare for later tonight.
During a recent discussion with ABC News, Idina said she wasn't bothered at all by the fact that people were reportedly betting on how long her rendition of the national anthem would be or if she'd even remember all the words:
"Oh, I love it. If they're talking about me at the Super Bowl, I like it!
"I can't help them though because I haven't timed it yet!
"But I've been promising some people, if they let me know, I can maybe, like, glance up at the clock and then hold the vibrato a little longer and try to work it out!"
That kind of talk is going to go a long way in keeping Idina out of the Hall of Fame.
