J.K.Simmons is known to many for his role as the white supremacist Nazi Vernon Schillinger on HBO’s Oz, his various roles in the Law & Order franchise, and of course as the Yellow M&M. Simmons recently won a Golden Globe and earned an Oscar nomination for his role in Whiplash. Now Simmons is hosting Saturday Night Live. Recently, Simmons told Howard Stern that he might be returning to the role of J. Jonah Jameson from the Spider-Man film series. Rumor also has it that Andrew Garfield might be exiting the series, which could crossover with Disney’s Avengers.

J.K. Simmons is highly acclaimed for his work in HBO’s OZ among many other programs. He recently won the Golden Globe for his film Whiplash and is up for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
However, many members of the geek culture will know Simmons from his role as, the perfectly cast, J. Jonah Jameson in the original Spider-Man film franchise.
During a recent interview with legendary Sirius XM host, Howard Stern, Simmons was asked if he was going to do another Spider-Man film, to which he replied “I just heard that we…that’s a possibility.”--via Slash Film.
In addition to the three Sam Raimi Spider-Man films, Simmons has been providing the voice for J. Johan Jameson for years, on Disney animated shows like Ultimate Spider-Man Avengers Assemble,Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. as well as Lego Marvel Super Heroes: Maximum Overload.
The recently Sony hack revealed a series of emails that claiming that Disney was interested adding Sony’s Spider-Man to the Avengers, but without Andrew Garfield. Could Simmon’s connection with Disney and his comments with Stern imply that Spider-Man will crossover?
