Now that Ann Curry is not only done with the Today show, but NBC as a whole as well, folks are wondering how long it is going to take the former network news anchor to write her multimillion dollar tell-all exposing her ill treatment at the hands of co-host Matt Lauer. According to the latest gossip news updates, Ann still isn't quite over getting fired for no reason at all back in 2012, and it seems like for the first time in years she has little left to lose by finally telling her side of the story. In a recent interview, Savanah Guthrie talked about what it was like replacing Curry following the fallout 2-and-a-half years ago.
It's been an open secret for years at NBC that Ann Curry was forced out of her position on the Today show by a bullying Matt Lauer, but now it may finally be time to settle the score.
After more than two decade with the network, Ann has seen it all, and a source claims in the February 2, National Enquirer that all that info could lead to one gigantic payday is Curry was so inclined:
"Ann has dirt on Matt, Katie Couric, Al Roker and former co-host Meredith Vieira.
"She knows all about behind-the-scenes fights and tantrums, and she can command a multimillion dollar book deal to dish it all."
The Today show informant goes on to explain that more than anyone else, Curry could destroy Matt Lauer's reputation if she starts telling tales of school:
"Ann has had a ringside seat to what viewers don't know about Matt -- particularly the rumors that he carried on affairs with Today gals Natalie Morales and Savannah Guthrie.
"She can really sting Matt is she writes all that she knows."
While Savanah Guthrie certainly isn't likely to address any of the rumors about her relationship with Lauer if she doesn't have to, Curry's replacement has talked about how tense everything seemed when she first took over for Ann (via LatinPost):
"It required a delicate touch.
"My own approach was not to go in there with guns blazing, saying, 'pay attention to me.'
"It called for someone to come in, put their head down and do the work...I tried to be a credit to the show and not another problem."
While Ann Curry has too much class to really even entertain the idea of writing anything to embarrass her former coworkers, it would serve Matt Lauer right if she did.
