Bald Matt Lauer 'Today' Show Fears New Ann Curry Feud Book

It's been long rumored that Matt Lauer is the reason Ann Curry was unceremoniously fired from the Today Show. That might not be entirely true, but bald Matt fears that a new book will make their off air feud seem pretty one sided.

CNN media reporter Brian Stelter will soon have Lifetime air a movie based on his book Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV, which chronicles the behind-the-scenes impromptu dismissal of Ann Curry back in 2012.

That sounds like good news for Brian Stelter, but Matt Lauer is not thrilled.

A source close to Lauer told In Touch that the morning show star is sweating bullets thinking about the reputational backlash:

“Matt is so nervous and has been asking everyone if they’ve seen the script yet. The book depicts everything that happened back then, and Matt is worried that he’s going to be painted as the villain.”

Rumors have circulated since Ann Curry, 57, was unexpectedly fired, that Lauer was behind the dastardly deed. Lauer isn’t just afraid of how he will come off.

He is just as worried about how he is going to look on the small screen according to the same source in In Touch:

“He’s also obsessed with who’s going to play him in the movie. It’s definitely going to play up Ann as the victim and the hero. She’s finally getting her revenge.”

Matt Lauer shouldn’t worry about has-been Ann or her revenge. If you strike Lauer, he will become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.
