Word has it that ladies of the early morning talk show world aren't a crew to be tangled with lightly. According to the latest gossip news updates, Sheila Weller's new tall-all paints Today show icon Katie Couric as a business minded juggernaut that would bully and cajole to get her way. Not only does the shocking new book claim that the current Yahoo! World News anchor would bully Ann Curry before bestie Matt Lauer reportedly had her fired, the Today show cutthroat was reportedly known to imply that Good Morning America's Diana Sawyer had granted superiors sexual favors in order to get ahead of the competition.
If you thought you knew Katie Couric after watching her for years on the Today show and CBS, it may be time for you to think again.
According to NY Daily News, who presumably got an early copy of Sheila Weller's new book, The News Sorority, Katie is not the All-American sweetheart she seems to be on TV every morning:
"Katie Couric cultivated an 'American Girl identity' but she was also a bully with a 'chip on her shoulder.'
"When Couric found out Sawyer landed a much sought-after interview with a 57-year-old woman who had given birth to twins, the publicly perky anchor reportedly snarled, 'I wonder who she b--- this time to get it.'
"Couric, Weller claims, also used to psychologically pummel Ann Curry when she was the news reader on Today."
A supposed friend of Katie's, who spoke to the NY Daily News, insisted that Weller is more or less a liar that is trying to capitalize on other women's hard fought gains:
"[Weller was] relying on classic anti-feminist caricatures, tabloid-like misrepresentations and outright falsehoods about these three extraordinary women."
It has been said that no great man has ever been a good man...but the guy who made that nonsense up never spent half-an-hour getting his pants charmed off by Katie Couric.
