‘NCIS:LA’ LL Cool J Hosts Stephen Merchant 'Lip Sync Battle' and 2015 Grammys [NEWS UPDATE]

NCIS: Las Angeles rapper, LL Cool J, is going to be pulling double hosting duty this year according to the latest entertainment news reports. Not only will Chris O'Donnell's CBS co-star be hosting the 2015 Grammy Awards, the hip-hop icon is also going to be the new full time host for the new Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon spin-off, Lip Sync Battle. The bit on the late night talk show wherein celebrities try to outdo one another by pantomiming to Top 40 song lyrics was originally created by Fallon, Stephen Merchant and John Krasinski and will appear as a new TV show on the Spike network, with Ladies Love Cool James acting as house MC.

After a successful career in music, movies and television 47-year-old hip-hop legend LL Cool J is all set to conquer his new role as full time host of the Jimmy Fallon inspired Lip Sync Battle on Spike.

The new series -- slated to premiere April 2 -- feature celebrities doing their best to out-perform one another to prerecorded hits, but LL told Entertainment Weekly that it will be a whole lot more than just an oversized version of what you have already seen on the Tonight Show (via Rolling Stone):

"Like the rest of the world, I'm a big fan of these battles, but this show is going to bring it to a whole new level.

"I'm thrilled to be working with Jimmy Fallon, John Krasinski, Stephen Merchant, and the entire team to host the show and can't wait for the fans at home to join in!!"

Of course, adding another full-time job to his already overcrowded schedule certainly isn't going to deter LL Cool J from his now annual duty of hosting the Grammys.

In an official statement released following the announcement that J had landed the gig for the fourth year in a row, LL sounded as though he was just as excited to host the ceremony this year as he was when he first got the job back in 2012 (via Entertainment Weekly):

"I'm thrilled to again be part of music's biggest night.

"The performances and moments you see on the Grammy stage are nothing less than amazing throughout the years and this year's show is shaping up to be one you will never forget."

It looks like it's not just the ladies who love Mr. Cool James.
