Jennifer Lawrence NOT Emily Blunt Joins ‘Frozen 2’ Cast with Idina Menzel after Taye Diggs Divorce? [VIDEO UPDATE]

Ever since Idina Menzel let it slip that there is a Frozen 2 in the works the tabloids have been more than happy to speculate as to who will be joining the cast. According to the latest gossip news updates, Hunger Games hottie Jennifer Lawrence has been tapped to join the animated sequel, after her rendition of "The Hanging Tree" garnered so much positive attention in Mockingjay Part 1. John Krasinki's super-famous wife, Emily Blunt, was rumored to be working with Idina Menzel, who just divorced longtime husband, Taye Diggs, on the new film, but the Edge of Tomorrow star has since explained that she wouldn't dare crowd in on Kristen Bell's territory.

Idina Menzel's Broadway show "If/Then" may not be doing as well as it once was, but Taye Digg's ex-wife sparked a firestorm of excitement in November when she told the Telegraph that she was pretty certain she'd soon be joining the rest of the Frozen 2 cast to record the sequel (via Variety):

"Not the stage show -- I don't know what will happen with that -- but the [Frozen 2] movie, hopefully...We'll see.

"They're all in the works...I'm just going along for the ride."

A source claiming to know what's going on behind-the-scenes with production claimed in OK! Magazine's January 25, issue that everyone was hoping Jennifer Lawrence would be stepping in to replace Kristen Bell in the new movie:

"Jen's husky rendition of 'The Hanging Tree' in Mockingjay Part 1 surprised everyone.

"Now execs think she could be the new Kristen Bell!"

According to the informant, Jenifer actually "hates singing", but the producers are convinced that it is going to be too much money to turn down:

"She's such a relevant star...She'd bring tons of fans the next film."

At one point it was being widely rumored that Emily Blunt was in talks to join the sequel, but the blonde bombshell told the VC Post that she wouldn't dream of ever stepping on Kristen Bell's toes:

"No, no! That [franchise] is for my friend Kristen Bell, who just CRUSHED it, and I am so happy for her.

"So no. I don't know. There's just never going to be another Elsa and an Anna. There's just can't."

Well...someone is going to have to sing in the next Frozen; there's just too much money to be made for the studio to just walk away now.
