Mariah's Carey reputation for singing is becoming every bit as big the laughing stock that her marriage to Nick Cannon has been in recent months, and word has it she blames her husband for both. According to the latest gossip news updates, the "Butterfly" singer thinks that her soon-to-be ex-husband's big mouth has drawn a lot of unwelcome attention to her singing and extra-curricular activities. It's good news then that Carey's is a shoo-in to land a multi-million dollar deal to sing in Las Vegas, just like Britney Spears. Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that the America's Got Talent host really does rap about his wife on his new album, but the lyrics seems to refer to his own sexual prowess as opposed to putting down Mariah as previously rumored.
A few weeks ago the producer on Nick Cannon's new album, Mally Mall, predicted that the public would find at least one of the tracks that referenced his wife, Mariah Carey, to be "shocking", and he was right.
At first fans that saw the recent TMZ video believed that the lyrics mentioned a pay day in regards to his split with his wife, but it would appear that Cannon was bragging about something far smaller than his wife's fortune:
"It sounded like he said 'I got a check,' referring to his soon-to-be ex-wife. But someone involved in the production tells us he says 'text' and not 'check.'"
One would imagine it is that type of attention that Mariah is blaming on ruining her reputation.
Mariah didn't have to live her life under a microscope before Nick started spreading the news that they were no longer a couple, but now Carey has to deal with embarrassing videos spreading across the internet faster than a North Korea engineered super-virus.
A secret source told E! News that Mariah is at least partially convinced that if Nick would have handling things more discreetly, she might not be the butt of so many jokes:
"She holds him partially responsible for the bad press her recent performances have gotten,
"She's been so stressed over the split -- with the fighting and crying -- it's definitely affected her state of mind, her head, her voice and her stage presence. It's rattled her."
It seems that Mariah Carey can still find a way to make all her mistakes Nick Cannon's fault.
