It looks like the gloves are finally coming off in Nick Cannon's divorce from R&B icon, Mariah Carey. According to the latest gossip news updates, all the talk about always being a family doesn't make it on to the America's Got Talent host's new album. Mally Mall, who claims to be producing the new album, explained that Cannon's comments on the new disc will be "controversial". One might have guessed this was coming when all the recent rumors about her Wild N' Out husband's demands for a $50 million chunk of the "Butterfly" singer's net worth and a 50/50 split in custody of their twin, culminated in Carey breaking down on stage at the Beacon Theater December 15.
For weeks there have been mounting reports that Nick Cannon's claims that he and Mariah Carey are splitting amicably and will always remain family aren't as genuine as he would have his fans believe.
Word has it that after 6-years of dealing with Mariah's ego, Cannon is looking to be fairly compensated for services rendered.
A source with all the behind the scenes info claimed in the December 29, issue of Life & Style Magazine, that Nick was looking to get paid on top of taking custody of the kids:
"Thought they signed a prenup, Nick feel entitled to $50 million.
"And just to be difficult, he submitted a list of jewelry and presents he wants back...He's playing head games.
"He doesn't think her lifestyle is good for the kids' stability.
"He brings up that she is a drinker, she keeps odd hours and she relies on a rotating staff of nannies."
Now, Nick is literally adding insult to injury by reportedly attacking Mariah in his new album, supposedly produced by Mally Mall.
Mall told TMZ that his work with Cannon has included at least one song that brought up Mariah's name in a not so positive light:
"[Mally Mall] is doing an album with Nick Cannon next year and there are references to Mariah Carey ... some of which are NOT flattering.
"The mega hip-hop producer first made it sound like Nick played nice in describing his relationship, but then he half took it back and said Nick's comments will be 'controversial.'"
It seems kind of hard to believe that Nick would go out of his way to tell everyone that things between him and Mariah have and always will remain civil, just to put her on blast on his first album since the breakup...but crazier things have happened.
