As Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon's divorce battle starts to heat up there has been all kinds of talk about him trying to split with a sizable junk of her reported $550 million net worth, but according to the latest gossip news updates, if anyone needs a taste of the "Butterfly" singer's wealth it's her HIV-positive sister, Alison. Mariah's soon-to-be homeless sibling recently let the tabloids know that she and her two children desperately need some help after Mariah's three year absence form their lives. Mariah's almost ex-husband, is said to be keeping pretty busy in between representing supposed girlfriend, Amber Rose, and getting divorced. Word has it that in addition to signing up to host another season of America's Got Talent, Cannon is also trying to get Canadian rapper, Drake to agree to an appearance on his TV show, Wild N' Out in 2015.
While Mariah Carey's upcoming divorce battle with Nick Cannon has had the tabloids talking about her reported $550 million net worth for months, Mariah's sister, Alison Carey, claims to have been struggling to feed and clothe her children.
In a recent interview with Star Magazine, Alison explained that even though she desperately needs her sister's help -- she needs Mariah's love as much as her money (via In Touch):
"Decisions I've made in my life have hurt my children... We don't have enough food. I haven't been able to pay the rent this month.
"I can't buy my daughter, who's on her school's honors list, the clothes she needs -- not wants, needs.
"I don't want Mariah to think I only want her for her money, like everyone else does...I want her to love me again.
"I want her to be my sister again."
While Mariah is deciding whether or not she is going to let his niece and nephew starve to death in the street with her estranged sister, Nick Cannon is trying to figure out a way to cajole Drake into appearing on his Wild N' Out series.
While talking to AJC.com, Cannon revealed that the show started out as just an inventive way to spend his time -- but blossomed into so much more:
"It started as a hobby but now it's something that helps people blossom.
"I've had Katt Williams, Kevin Hart, Taran Killam, Affion Crockett on the show. Everyone's been on it.
"I'm trying to convince Drake to do it.
"It's its own monster...That's why people respond to it."
If Mariah Carey won't do anything to help her family out...maybe ex-uncle Nick Cannon will be able to find Alison a job straightening up one of the many studios he uses to produce his countless TV shows.
