Ben Affleck is one of the most popular names in showbusiness. Therefore, it was interesting to hear his opinion on the New England Patriots and their recent playoff match against the Baltimore Ravens. Even though the star ultimately backed his boys, he didn't go as far as fellow actor and friend Matt Damon, who claimsthe Pats are going to win the Super Bowl this year.
Throughout his career, Affleck has had his ups and his downs. A lot of people have criticized his acting style and some of the roles he has picked in the past. On the other hand, he has produced some works that are considered staples in the industry.
For instance, he and childhood friend Matt Damon both received Golden Globes for their work on the groundbreaking film, Good Will Hunting.
Also, his film Argo, that he both directed and starred in, earned him multiple awards, including a Golden Globe and the BAFTA award for Best Picture.
Whether you're on the side of people who love him or the side that hates him, we can all agree that he is a pretty respectable guy who has been around the block a couple of times.
In turn, it was interesting to see what he had to say about the upcoming Patriots/Ravens Playoff game. According to TMZ Sports, Ben stuck by his boys in blue and white:
"Ben Affleck says the Baltimore Ravens are the absolute WORST matchup for his beloved Patriots...telling TMZ Sports he's got a healthy fear of Joe Flacco. A pumped up Affleck was leaving Tavern in Brentwood when he told us he wishes Brady and company were facing a weaker opponent this weekend (a shot at the Steelers perhaps?)...But when push comes to shove, Ben says he believes in his boys..."
Growing up in Boston clearly had an affect on Ben and Matt. They both have loyalty that goes a long way back. According to Crossmap, Damon's statements weren't to far off from Ben's:
"Matt Damon, an outspoken New England Patriots fan, just told everyone who is willing to listen about his expectations for the Super Bowl. According to him, he is expecting his squad to conquer and beat the Ravens next week. While he only mentioned the Ravens, his statement may apply to everyone else who is likely to cross Tom Brady's path and stand in his team's way to acquiring another Super Bowl title for this year."
