Even though he is considered to be one of the nicest guys in Hollywood, Steve Careel recently admitted that he didn't spend any time hanging out with his Foxcatcher co-stars off the set, and some might say it shows in the new movie. While the Daily Show alum has explained that the distance was nothing personal, the real-life athlete that Channing Tatum portrayed in the film, Mark Schultz, seems absolutely livid with the experience as whole. According to the latest gossip news updates, Schultz reportedly believes that the movie implies he and the man that murdered his brother, John du Pont, back in 1996 had a homosexual affair. The Olympic champion still praises Tatum's acting in the picture on Facebook, but attacks director Bennett Miller's personal integrity on Twitter -- threatening to end his Hollywood career.
Even though Steve Carell has been as well known for his charm as he is his comedic wit since his days working with John Stewart, the lovable actor recently revealed that he hadn't really spent any time getting friendly with actors Mark Ruffalo or Channing Tatum for his Foxcatcher performance.
The 40-Year-Old Virgin told the Guardian that the distance wasn't a part of any acting method; it's just how things seemed to turn out:
"I didn't get to know Mark or Channing very well while we were shooting.
"It wasn't anything planned, we just naturally didn't interact, aside from the scenes we were doing.
"We didn't hang out, or bond."
Not only did the actors not bond while they were working together on the film, Channing Tatum's real-life inspiration, Mark Schultz, has apparently had a full-blown falling out with director, Bennett Miller.
In a statement Schultz plastered all over his Facebook page, he complemented Tatum's performance given the direction that Miller was dead set on taking the story (via Perez Hilton):
"The personalities and relationships between the characters in the film are primarily fiction and, although Channing is outstanding, the personality is not accurate.
"However, I think Channing played me the only way it was possible to play me due to the confines of the director's vision."
In a passionate Twitter outburst, since deleted from his account, Mark Schultz attacked the director Bennett Miller more directly -- even going as far as threatening to ruin his career:
"YOU CROSSED THE LINE MILLER. WE'RE DONE. YOU'RE CAREER IS OVER. YOU THINK I CAN'T DO IT. WATCH ME.
"I BUILT THIS HOUSE AND I'LL TEAR IT DOWN. YOU THINK I CAN'T TAKE YOU DOWN COZ UR A DIRECTOR. WATCH ME BENNET
"I CAN TOLERATE A LOT OF THINGS BUT I DON'T TOLERATE DISRESPECT. WE'RE DONE BENNETT.
"Everything I've ever said positive about the movie I take back. I hate it. i hate it.[sic] i hate it. I hate it. i hate it. i hate it. I hate it
"I HATE BENNETT MILLER."
With that guy potentially walking around the set...no wonder Steve Carell spent every free moment in between scenes alone in his trailer.
