Steve Carell, who is best known for his roles in movies like Evan Almighty and Anchorman, has seen his career skyrocket since leaving the Daily Show with Jon Stewart in 2005, but that hasn’t caused the 51-year-old to forget what is most important to him, his long-time wife and love of his life, Nancy Walls.
Carell met the 47-year-old Wells in Chicago while she was a student in a class he was teaching at The Second City comedy troupe. Hollywood nice guy Steve was a little sheepish at first, when approaching the beautiful Walls. He told Details earlier this year about the first time he asked his future wife out (via Huffington Post):
“I beat around the bush [before asking her out] and said something stupid like, 'Well, you know, if I were to ever ask someone out, it would be someone like you.' It's so stupid, but it was all self-protection. She was the same way: 'If somebody like you were to ask me out, I would definitely go out with him. If there was a person like you.'"
Why the couple may sometime be shy around each other, they have no reservations against talking about one another. Carell recently spoke to OK! about just why he and his wife are so simpatico:
“My wife is one of the funniest people I know. We share a sense of humor. She knows infinite ways to make me laugh.’
Wow, Steve that is almost too cute.
