Ohio State Buckeyes Upset Victory Over Alabama Leads to Clash in National Championship [RESULTS]

How in the world did Ohio State make it past the number one ranked team in the nation, Alabama? The Buckeyes strapped up their cleats and set their noses to the grind. Also, it dint hurt matters much that Cardale Jones and Ezekiel Elliot were positively on point! All parts of this Ohio State team seemed to be clicking. Still, it remains to be seen if the Buckeyes will be able to keep it together while facing the penetrating Oregon Ducks' offense.

With ten minutes left in the first quarter, Derrick Henry ran for a 25-yard touchdown, and it looked like Alabama was going to steamroll over their opponents like we have seen them do so many times before.

Moreover, they get up pretty big on Ohio (21-13), before Cardale Jones and company took charge.

With a trick play and a 47-yard bomb to Devin Smith, State took the lead over the infamous Rolling Tide, and they kept it.

As mentioned, it didn't hurt things any that the team's star players had some overall impressive stats. According to Comcast, records were even broken:

"Cardale Jones turned in another savvy performance in his second college start and Ezekiel Elliott ran for a Sugar Bowl-record 230 yards Thursday night, leading Ohio State to a 42-35 upset of top-ranked Alabama in the second semifinal of the College Football Playoff. The Buckeyes (13-1 and seeded fourth in the playoff) kicked off at the Superdome right after Oregon finished its 59-20 rout of reigning champ Florida State in the Rose Bowl..."

Now, State has a huge notch on their belt, but things are far from over -- especially since the Ducks upset Florida as well. This means football fans have an all new breed of game coming up in January.

Both teams have similar crushing defenses, and according to USA Today, things are going to depend on successful offenses:

"If the two national semifinals matched teams of differing styles and mindsets - Oregon's tempo against the Seminoles' traditional offense, Ohio State's spread against Nick Saban's defense - the championship pits two opponents rooted in a similar philosophy... The Ducks and the Buckeyes are defined in large part on the offensive side of the ball, running quick-paced attacks predicated on wearing down and exposing opposing defenses..."

All in all, Buckeye and Duck fans have an exiting day to look forward to on January 12th. What do you think will be the outcome? Let us know your opinions in the comment section below
