Jon Jones is considered to be one of the greatest fighters to enter an octagon or the world of MMA in general. He recently stated that not only does he think CM Punk will fail in the UFC, he wants to the see the former superstar get knocked out. Coincidentally, Jones has a very big fight coming up at the first of January, and by the way Daniel Cormier is talking, Jones might be the one getting knocked out.
Since 2012, Jones has retained the title of #1 light heavyweight fighter in the world. As of 2014, the UFC officially declared Jones the world's top ranked pound-for-pound fighter. Also, when he won the title in March 2011, he became the youngest champion in UFC history.
When it comes to arrogance, on the other hand, Jones is known to make some extremely bold statements from time to time. Unfortunately, it looks like he is at again.
According to Cage Side Seats, Jon recently admitted that he wants to see CM Punk get knocked out:
"Whether or not you agree with UFC President Dana White's Decision to sign former WWE star CM Punk to a contract to fight for the promotion in 2015, chances are you're going to watch it, if only to satisfy a sort of morbid curiosity. The same goes for the elite fighters who hold titles within the UFC, like light heavyweight champion Jon Jones. But he's not just curious; no, he's outright admitting he hopes to see Punk get his lights shut off."
Interestingly, though, one wouldn't think the champ would be making those kinds of statements with Daniel Cormier hot on his heels. Cormier and Jones have already (kind of) squared off once, and according to Yahoo Sports, Cormier is ready for the official bout:
"'Jon Jones...you can't run away from me forever. I'm the kid in the wrestling tournament that is in your bracket...you'd better hurry because I'm getting better,' Cormier shouted during his post-fight interview. 'I know no one can wrestle me so it doesn't matter. If I decide to take Jon Jones down 100 times, I will...this is my Octagon, I'm the man.'"
