American racer Kurt Busch has had a rough 2014 on and off the track. Earlier in the year, his ex-girlfriend, Patricia Discroll, claimed that the driver choked and assaulted her in his motorcoach after one of his races. Now, however, Busch's legal team has submitted a video as evidence that they say proves she is way too tough to ever be choked or the victim of domestic violence.
Kurt Busch is not the most respected driver in Nascar anyway, so, it is almost befitting to his identity that he would be wrapped up in such drama. Busch placed third on GQ's Top Ten Most Hated Athletes list, as well as Forbes' list of most disliked athletes.
During his career, Kurt has been in numerous feuds and rivalries with fellow drivers.
His most notable adversary is, of course, Jimmy Spencer. However, he has also been in spats with Greg Biffle, Robbie Gorden, Jimmie Johnson, and even his teammates, Tony Stewart and Kevin Harvick.
So, is it really that unpredictable that a person with such a reputation might fly off the handle (again) and choke his now-ex?
Sporting News reported on Discroll's statement of the events leading up to the incident:
"Driscoll testified that Busch was battling both alcoholism and depression leading up to the night of the alleged assault in Busch's motorhome during the Dover International Speedway race weekend. She testified he smashed her head against the motorhome wall, leaving her bruised. 'When he put his hands on me, he crushed my throat,' she said."
Still, it seems that this most-hated Nascar driver isn't ready to own up to anything yet. According to TMZ Sports, Busch and his lawyers have submitted evidence that contradicts Discroll's claims:
"Kurt Busch's ex-girlfriend is in court to get a restraining order against him -- but the NASCAR driver is fighting back with what he says is proof she's a certified badass who couldn't possibly be afraid of him...Driscoll claims he choked her inside his motorcoach...[sources say] his legal team has submitted a YouTube video of Driscoll as evidence. The video entitled 'Pocket Commando' -- was posted earlier this year, and shows her at a gun range, showing off marksman skills and talking about the company she owns...Frontline Defense Systems...Driscoll [even] calls herself a 'commando mommy.'"
