The group calling themselves the Guardians of Peace have released their promised “Christmas Gift” of files as well as a threat message, reading:

“We will clearly show it to you at the very time and places ‘The Interview’ be shown, including the premiere, how bitter fate those who seek fun in terror should be doomed to.Soon all the world will see what an awful movie Sony Pictures Entertainment has made. The world will be full of fear.”

The message went on to threaten a 9/11 style attack on theaters:

“Remember the 11th of September 2001. We recommend you to keep yourself distant from the places at that time. (If your house is nearby, you’d better leave.) Whatever comes in the coming days is called by the greed of Sony Pictures Entertainment. All the world will denounce the SONY.”

Now James Franco and Seth Rogen have reportedly canceled all press stops before the Christmas day opening, including an shared appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Seth Rogen is also reportedly canceling his Thursday slot on Late Night with Seth Meyers.

What do you think of the threats? Are you glad that James Franco and Seth Rogen canceled their appearances? Should Sony pull the film from theaters and move it to an On Demand format?
