‘Angel’ David Boreanaz Talks ‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer’ Starting Supernatural Show Trend with ‘Larry King Now’ [WATCH FULL INTERVIEW]

Attention 30-somethings: If you didn’t watch Joss Whedon's Buffy The Vampire Slayer, then you missed out (or either you were really popular high school): The show, and its spin-off Angel, helped change the face of TV, by giving it fangs and a weird looking forehead. Now, David Boreanaz is opening up to Ora.TV’s Larry King Now about how Buffy / Angel helped carve out the path for shows like Supernatural.

During David Boreanaz’s interview with Larry King, the Angel actor talks about what it was like being a part of Buffy:

“It’s, you know, blessed to have gotten into the business somewhat with Buffy and how that all started with Joss Whedon. I mean that was the type of the show back in ’97 that kind of hit hard and fast, and pretty furious. So for me it was pretty much a big introduction into show business and what it was all about.”

Even Star Wars creator George Lucas creator was impressed with the series, as Boreanaz adds:

“I was talking to him [George Lucas] and he says, ‘Amazing how you guys shoot these series and these shows. They’re like mini movies,’ because we would shoot them with all special effects and stunt work all in two days.”

No wonder Joss Whedon went on to helm Marvel’s Avengers. David Boreanaz also credits Wheldon for starting the supernatural trend:

“In a way it did, yeah; I think that if you look back at those shows and--I mean Joss created his own world and created this whole kind of place where he wasn’t afraid to push the envelope with the network and the studio.”
