South Park Creators Trey Parker, Matt Stone Tackle Washington Redskins Racist Controversy in Holiday Special

Comedy Central's South Park is easily one of the most controversial cartoons on television. Virtually every episode features a new target that creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone systematically dismantle in everyway. During the upcoming holiday episode, their penetrating gazes will turn, once again, to the Skins and owner Dan Snyder.

The list of controversial South Park episodes is too long to mention in this article. Some examples include: Michael Richards using the "N" word, a David Blaine cult and numerous jabs at Christianity (and really just religion in general).

Parker and Stone are known to cover a wide variety of topics, and once again they're having a go at professional sports. In Season 16, the creation of "Sarcastiball" delivered a metaphorical pummeling to the Denver Broncos.

More recently, an episode of the show criticized Washington Redskins' Owner Dan Snyder for refusing to change the team's offensive name. According to Deadline, Parker and Stone show no restraint when it comes to the NFL:

"South Park opened its 18th season with a highly hyped takedown of NFL team owner Dan Snyder. The boys of South Park launch a company on Kickstarter and decide to call their company The Washington Redskins, because it's available since the 'court thingy.' (In June, the U.S. Patent Office canceled trademark protection for the team name because it said it was an insult to Native Americans; that move threatened millions of dollars in merchandising, sponsorships, etc. The team has appealed that ruling.)"

Now, it is time for the holiday special, and the show is described as depicting J.J. Watts and many others. Also, based on the title "The Washington Redskins' Go F*$k Yourself Special," Snyder should buckle up for round two.

CBS Sports describes the upcoming episode/impending carnage:

"South Park didn't pull any punches when they went after the Redskins (and the NFL) during an episode earlier this season. They're coming right back at Washington's football team on Wednesday night's holiday episode, aggressively sub-titled 'The Washington Redskins Go F--- Yourself Holiday Special'...It appears the actual name of the episode is '#HappyHolograms' but the Redskins are getting top billing, along with the team's logo, which should make Dan Snyder extremely happy, even if he can't do anything about it."

Clearly the South Park team is not afraid to jump head first into any subject. What do you think of the situation? Let us know in the comments below.
