Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has achieved a lot during his 20 seasons as a star in the NBA, including being honored as one of the league's 50 greatest players of all time. Recently, however, it looks like Kareem really needs to get his affairs in order. One minute he is interested in investing in the Milwaukee Bucks, and the next he is feuding with Julien's Auction house and being granted his belongs from a judge.
Earlier this year, Kareem was interested in becoming a part of the Bucks' family again. ESPN outlines the former team member's opinions and statements regarding his participation in the success of the franchise:
"If I get a call, I will definitely offer my services...there's nothing on the table right now. A couple of people have asked me, and if I had the chance to be part of this franchise again, I would take it.' ESPN then descries how Kareem still thinks the franchise can turn it around and be successful. 'They have to get their business model right,' Abdul-Jabbar, said Monday. 'I hope that the Bucks are able to sort it all out and get on a good footing. You can't win it all unless you get the right players and you can't get the right players unless you're really in a good position as a business.'"
Most recently, however, Abdul-Jabbar's public efforts haven't been so noble.
Instead, the former Buck and Laker has been involved in a heated legal battle with Julien's Auction House. TMZ states the feud was over some of Kareem's personal belongings, and whether or not the auction house had permission to sell them or not.
As it turns out, Kareem really wants that rocking chair back:
"Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has been REUNITED with his treasured Bruce Lee poster...a college letterman sweater, rocking chair, NBA jerseys and more...The NBA legend hired a moving truck Thursday and hit up Julien's Auction House in Beverly Hills -- where his most treasured belongings were being held during a hotly contested legal war over the items...Julien's claims KAJ gave them permission to sell the items. Kareem says BS. Long story short ... a judge just granted Kareem the right to go pick up his stuff from the shop, so he went...and you can see in the video, he was THRILLED to get his stuff back."
How can this NBA legend go from investing in a million-dollar team to worrying about something like a rocking chair? Some people may think he getting a little cranky in his old age, or maybe the years have started to affect him in worse ways. What do you think? Let us know in the comment section below.
