‘Atlantis’ New Series Season 2 Premiere Spoilers: Jason Jack Donnelly Talks Musical Episode Before BBC ‘Doctor Who’ Christmas Special Return

Doctor Who might be taking a little time off until Christmas, but luckily BBC fans have Atlantis to tide them over. The second season begins tonight. Check out the all new episode preview for tonight’s Series 2 premiere, which is promises to be much darker than the first. The season might be darker, but the jokes are getting lighter. Jack Donnelly, who plays the Freek hero Jason (of Jason and the Argonauts fame) recently opened up about how his fellow cast members tricked him into thinking there was going to be a musical episode.

The official plot synopsis for tonight’s all new Season 2 premiere episode of Atlantis reads:

“Season 2 begins with Queen Ariadne turning to Jason to help battle Pasiphae and prevent her kingdom from collapsing.”

Recently, Jack Donnelly opened up to Cambridge News about how his co-stars Robert Emms (Pythagoras) and Mark Addy (Hercules) tricked him into thinking there was going to be a big musical episode:

"Mark and Rob had me believe that the final episode was a musical episode. This involved my agent, Rob's agent, the producers, singing tutors from London who they set up an email account for. I was thinking, 'I'm going to ruin this [with my singing]. This is the end of my career...'."
