Tonight’s the hit CW/DC Comics show, Arrow is all new. This week we get to learn the secret origins of fan favorite Felicity Smoak. Recently, Smoak actress Emily Bett Rickards opened up about her characters breakup Stephen Amell’s Oliver Queen and her ex-boyfriend played by Glee’s Nathan Funk.
The official plot synopsis for tonight’s all new episode, titled “The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak.”
“Oliver and Felicity try to contain the destruction caused by a cyber attack that rocks Starling City. Meanwhile, Felicity's mother makes a surprise visit; Ted questions Laurel's motives; and Thea buys an apartment with Malcolm's so-called estate money.”
You can probably guess from the title that this week’s new episode is all about Emily Bett Rickards’ character Felicity Smoak.
Rickards recently opened up to TV Line about her breakup with Stephen Amell’s Oliver Queen:
“That was one of the best moments. As an actor, you’re just like, ‘Yes. This is what I live for. This destruction, this release.’ It’s therapeutic in a way. I really like working with those scenes where you get to take moments, because we work fast all the time. Having the chance to take a moment in a scene is very appreciated by me as an actor.”
Speaking of breakups, this week’s episode also introduces us to Glee’s Nolan Funk as Felicity’s college boyfriend, as Rickards previews:
“We get to see him in his college years, and we get to see Felicity in love. We get to see young college love and that whole game.”
Be sure to check out the all new episode of Arrow tonight at 8:00 p.m. on The CW.
