John Luther Adams & Laurie Anderson to Premiere Sound Installations at Big Ears Fest 2016

With preparation for the 2016 Big Ears Festival underway, the bigwigs behind the gala have announced two sound installations that will be part of the festivities: a piece from composer-in-residence John Luther Adams and his enticing Veils and Vesper, and Laurie Anderson's Drones, a Lou Reed original.
  • Carnegie Hall Events: Alan Cumming, Kristin Chenoweth, Daren Criss, Brass of Yale and DECODA

    From now until spring, New York City’s famed Carnegie Hall has something for music lovers all across the board. Later this month, the iconic venue will host some of the best brass musicians from The Yale School of Music. In early February, some of Broadway’s best, Kristin Chenoweth (Wicked) and Darren Criss (Hedwig and The Angry Inch), will sing along with Cabaret star Alan Cumming for with some Sappy Songs. Later in February, the Hall’s own fellowship chamber ensemble, DECODA, will be heading on over to Bocca di Bacco in Chelsea to kick off the Tertulia Chamber Music series.

    SiriusXM radio Channel 30 has currently been taken over by tributes to David Bowie. The iconic rocker and actor passed away earlier this week after battling cancer. Now you can hear some of his greatest hits spanning his entire career up to the his farewell release 'Blackstar' streaming on satellite radio. The channel is also playing cover tracks of some of Bowie’s best from artist like Barbra Streisand, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana and the late Scott Weiland as well as many more.
