Guantanamo Bay's Vinyl Vault Contains 22,000 Records and Reel-to-Reel Vinyl Recordings
It is perhaps the lesser-known "vinyl communities" of the world--but sitting in on Guantanamo Bay are over 22,000 reel-to-reel vinyl records. For 6,000 some odd troops, that's quite a lot of listening to get through. Victor Wainwright & The Wildroots, 'Boom Town,' Blind Pig Records [REVIEW]
Victor Wainwright plays piano like Jerry Lee Lewis. He pounds those ivories in the kind of boogie-woogie beat that reminds one that the piano is, after all, in the percussion family. The man is an entertainer, pure and simple. His Hammond B-3 fills provide the icing on this cake.
