He's not merely a piano virtuoso with some over-the-top tricks up his sleeve. And after a rather showy Grammy performance with trash forefathers Metallica, Lang Lang has entered a realm of commercial artistry few classical artists have been able to break.
To wit, Bugatti will release a special edition of their Grand Sport Vitesse called "Lang Lang" at the 2014 Qatar International Motor Show later this month--built, yes, in honor of the Chinese pianist.
The sports car invariably resembles the pianist, oddly enough. The two-tone exterior features polished black carbon fiber that's really set off by the "Blanc Atalante" white accents (these moto-junkies, I'll tell ya).
Apparently, there is some gaudy 24-carat gold plating that adorns the "EB" logos, along with black, diamond-cut wheels that contribute to the "keyboard look." Whatever that means.
The cost of the vehicle--for you 1%-ers out there--is a mere $2,934,000.
Perhaps Lang Lang has lost his sense of identity and thinks himself a self-proclaimed hip-hop artist.
Next: We can expect Cristal to drop a "Lang Lang" edition champagne. Where will it end, Classicalites?
