Some Kind of Monster: Metallica and Lang Lang (Langtallica?) Rehearse "One" for the 2014 Grammys

Metallica is a band that likes the video camera. A lot.

But for a band who clearly over-documents (and has a new studio album forthcoming), footage of their practice sessions has proved surprisingly scarce.

Until now...

Unless you've been living under a rock since the New Year, you'll recall that the trash forebears teamed up with Chinese piano virtuoso Lang Lang for an, umm, idiosyncratic performance at the 2014 Grammy Awards.

The spectacle was as, err, idiosyncratic as one would think: Lasers gleamed across the stage, Kirk Hammett melted faces with signature shreds and pop music's biggest night witnessed a revival--if only for a few minutes--of legit classical in the mainstream.

But we live in a world where the immediacy of mediascapes are law, and we have to abide by the sovereign decree, "pics or didn't happen."

And, indeed, Classicalite delivered just that unto you.

So, in keeping with our charge, here's the rehearsal tape of Loutallica Langtallica for all our little monsters out there.

Hold your breath and wish for death, yes, because this "One" is neither Prokofiev nor Bartók.
