"Particle Fever" is set to hit Broadway, inspired by the acclaimed 2013 documentary of the same name.

Producers Annie Roney and Megan Kingery expressed, "Theater artists, like scientists, are called to probe the biggest, most confounding questions in the universe," as reported by Deadline.

"How lucky we are to have such a stellar team of fellow explorers to collaborate with on 'Particle Fever.' As anyone who has followed their careers would expect, David Henry Hwang, Bear McCreary, Zoe Sarnak and Leigh Silverman are creating something brilliantly authentic with this work."

"Even more impressive - they've uncovered the inherent hilarity and joy that lie at the heart of human ambition, making this journey every bit as entertaining as it is enlightening."

The "Particle Fever" musical will also feature a book by Tony Award winner David Henry Hwang and musical scoring by Bear McCreary and Zoe Sarnak.

It follows an exciting journey of scientists who discovered the Higgs boson, known as "The God Particle," and its impact on our understanding of the universe.

A private reading of the musical was exclusively held for industry insiders in New York, supported by a grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, which also contributed to the original movie.

According to Broadway in Boston, what sets Hwang, McCreary, Sarnak, and Silverman's work apart is the way they have skillfully revealed the humorous and uplifting aspects of human aspirations.
