The former 'Pussycat Dolls' lead singer, Nicole Scherzinger, told The Sunday Times that the musical she is writing is "loosely based on her life." The musical will include songs from the "probably fifteen" unreleased albums she has written or recorded.
Scherzinger, who will be reprising her Olivier Award-winning role of Norma Desmond in 'Sunset Boulevard' on Broadway this season, also revealed to The Sunday Times that she had previously considered a Broadway transfer for Andrew Lloyd Webber's 2015 West End production of 'Cats,' which she starred in.
"Andrew has done so much for me, and he's a friend. He and his family, they're dear friends of mine. And you know, he really did put a lot on the line and wanted to bring Cats to Broadway. But it wasn't in the cards, I guess. It wasn't in the stars," Scherzinger said.
She claimed that after all these years, she finally had the courage not to worry about what others think and to know she had something to say.
The performer has also told The Times of her role as Broadway's Norma Desmond in Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'Sunset Boulevard' that it is great when she works as there were tears, blood, and snot. She noted that she never thought of getting into that moment.
Scherzinger is a multi-award-winning, multi-platinum-selling performer, singer, actress, dancer, and television personality. She has sold over 37 million singles worldwide and 16 million records as a solo artist.
Formerly a member of 'The Pussycat Dolls,' one of the best-selling music groups in history with over 55 million records sold worldwide, she has performed at Madison Square Garden, graced the stages of London's West End, voiced Sina in Disney's animated blockbuster 'Moana,' starred in the ABC remake of 'Dirty Dancing,' and most recently served as a panelist on FOX's hit show, 'The Masked Singer.'
