Tony Award winners Nick Jonas and Adrienne Warren are set to lead in the first-ever Broadway production of Jason Robert Brown's 'The Last Five Years' under the production of Tony nominee Whitney White.
The musical will have a 14-week limited run at a theater to be announced in the spring of 2025. Tickets will go on sale on Monday, July 22.
Jonas was featured in several Broadway shows as a child. In 2012, he landed a major role in a production of 'How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.' Last year, Jonas made his recent Broadway appearance for a Jonas Brothers concert stand.
Warren won a Tony Award for playing the title role in 'Tina.' She also had roles in Broadway productions of 'Shuffle Along, or the Making of the Musical Sensation of 1921 and All That Followed' and 'Bring It On.'
'The Last Five Years' follows a promising New York writer, Jamie, and actress, Cathy, as they chronicle the ups and downs of their relationship over half a decade, each starting at an opposite end of the affair's timeline.
The musical debuted Off-Broadway at the Minetta Lane Theatre in 2002 with Sherie Rene Scott and Norman Leo Butz after premiering in Skokie, Illinois' Northlight Theatre.
In 2014, a film adaptation directed by Richard LaGravenese premiered, starring Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan.
In a statement, White said, "The Last Five Years is one of the greatest original American musicals in the canon. I could not be more excited to bring it to Broadway for the first time with Nick and Adrienne, two powerhouse performers and theatre lovers."
She added, "I fell in love with this musical many years ago when I was a student at Northwestern. I found it then, and still consider The Last Five Years to be such a human portrait and a beautiful exercise in making time-the one thing we are all bound to-feel consequential."
