Steve Aoki and Bassjackers dropped two singles last Friday: "Flashing Lights" and "Voices In My Head (feat. Teddy Bee)."
Aoki describes the tracks as "packed with high-energy vibes that are perfect for kicking off the summer." On social media, he said: "We've been working on these two tracks as a two part story that complement and finish each [other's] moments. We made them to bring out a certain kind of energy and [are] happy to see it has brought so many people together. They have been secret weapons in our sets and now they're yours."
Aoki has been playing "Flashing Lights" at various festivals the past year, including at Tomorrowland and UltraEurope. He has also been releasing new material on his Heavenly Hell Tour, which kicked off last March, and features other artists from his Dim Mak label, including Nostalgix, Pickle, Callie Reiff, Deorro, Yetep, Ookay, Henry Fong, Wolfgang Gartner, and Cheyenne Giles.
The two-time Grammy nominee will feature more collaborations in his 9th studio album, where Aoki returns to his dancefloor roots, and partners with Lil Jon, Ne-Yo, and others. The first part of a two-part project, the forthcoming album will also expand on Aoki's HiROQUEST universe, for which he has produced playing cards and a graphic novel, as well as music. The album is set to release on June 28th.
