About 'More Time' and 'And (Hold On)'

A wide variety of press outlets, including Aquarian Weekly, Q Magazine, Rock and Roll Globe, and Santa Barbara Independent, among others has warmly received the album since it first came out last week.

"More Time" was recorded and produced in the Memphis studio of Grammy-winning record producer and engineer Matt Ross-Spang (Margo Price and Old Crow Medicine Show), and is Muller's dramatic leap forward.

The new album sees the artist move away from his folk and roots inclinations, which was made apparent in his previous records. In contrast, "More Time" is a more "serious" and more soulful recording that highlights Muller's evolution as an artist.

The curtains are opened by "And (Hold On)," a track that sets the tone for the whole project with its bouncy and rhythmic Fender Rhodes riff.

In a statement to Consequence, which debuted the opening track's MV, Muller said: "The song was inspired by the conflict between being an artist and also being a good husband [and] father. Instead of picking one or the other, I choose to go for both: Hold on to what you want AND hold on to what you got."

"For the music video, we rented a classic red 1969 Buick Skylark convertible that I drove back and forth on a windy mountain road above Santa Barbara a total of 26 times," he continued. "Each trip had different passengers, including bandmates, friends, and my daughter (with her friends)."

"Chris Morgan made a great video cutting back and forth between the rides. It makes me smile every time I watch it."
