In continuation of Craft Latino's 60th-anniversary celebration of Fania Records, it proudly announces today the special reissue of the legendary New York label's self-titled debut album for one of the greatest salsa artists of all time, entitled "Roberto Roena y Su Apollo Sound."
The remastered record showcases Roena's distinct sonic profile through classic hits, including "Tu Loco Loco, y Yo Tranquilo," "El Escapulario," and his popular rendition of "Soñando con Puerto Rico."
The collection will also feature a handful of the artist's English covers like one for the Blood, Sweat & Tears band's "Spinning Wheel."
About 'Roberto Roena y Su Apollo Sound' by Fania Records
Originally released in 1970, the album not only introduced the industry to Roena's new style but also launched what would later become the bandleader, dancer, and percussionist's prolific and expansive career.
The new reissue offers the highest quality listening experience to any of the salsa legend's fans, thanks to all-analog remastering by Kevin Gray of Cohearent Audio.
Physically, the LP offers equally premium aesthetics and feel due to being pressed on 180-gram vinyl and housed in a vintage-style tip-on jacket, paying homage to and replicating the record's classic design.
"Roberto Roena y Su Apollo Sound" will also debut in 192/24 HD digital audio, in addition to having a Loco Loco Sun color vinyl exclusive with an exciting bundle option that includes a commemorative "Roberto Roena y Su Apollo Sound" T-shirt available at Fania.com.
The reissued album is slated to arrive on July 5 and is now available for pre-order today by clicking here.
