Cast of Broadway Show ‘Stereophonic’ Makes TV Debut With Their Performance of ‘Masquerade’ in ‘The Tonight Show’

Fresh from leading the pack with thirteen nominations at the upcoming 77th Tony Awards, the Broadway production of "Stereophonic" has yet again bagged a milestone: its very first TV performance of "Masquerade" at "The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon."

The 'Stereophonic' Cast's Performance of 'Masquerade'

Besides being the late-night debut performance of the cast, the folks at "Stereophonic" also pierced the somewhat exclusive club of stage performers gracing the stage of the show, as its slots are usually reserved for popular bands and singers.

Although the production does feature songs written by industry veteran Will Butler, more commonly known for being a former member of Arcade Fire, the pieces are very much still part of a play, even if it's a play with music.

You can watch this cast performance of "Masquerade" right below.

As can be seen, the TV rendition of the song is introduced with the play's non-singing members: Eli Gelb and Andrew R. Butler, positioned in the very same audio station they are perched at the actual stage play, before zooming in on what looks like the recording session of the track.

Performing "Masquerade" are cast members Will Brill, Juliana Canfield, Tom Pecinka, Sarah Pidgeon, and Chris Stack, alongside the inclusion of the play's director: "Justin Craig," who played a never-before-heard guitar line from the stage production.

This TV performance of the cast commemorates the upcoming release of the "Stereophonic" digital cast recording this Friday, May 10, with physical copies arriving on June 14.

"Masquerade" is now also available for streaming as a bonus to The Tonight Show appearance, alongside one of the versions of the song "Bright." The album itself is now available for pre-order and pre-save by clicking here.

As for the currently available tracks, you can sample them right below.

"Stereophonic" is still playing in Broadway's Golden Theatre up until August 18. For more information on the play, visit: StereophonicPlay.com.
