Jon Foreman, a prolific singer-songwriter and frontman of the Grammy-winning rock band Switchfoot, shared last Friday, April 12, his "fresh-out-the-oven" life-affirming anthem: "I Propose A Toast," off of his upcoming new album: "In Bloom" (out May 31).
What 'I Propose A Toast' is About
The single is co-produced by James McAlister, a musician who has closely worked with and written for the likes of Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, and Sufjan Stevens.
"I Propose A Toast" serves as the opening track for Foreman's forthcoming LP and revolves around the celebration of priceless connections defining a beautifully lived life.
Through his patented lyrical focus underscored by the light acoustic instrumentalization, Foreman inspires would-be listeners to connect despite differences for the sake of a better, happier tomorrow.
Foreman exemplifies this idea he preaches to the tune of love and understanding as he sings: "Here's to love and here's to life / Here's to fighting side-by-side / Here's to us together / You and I".

Jon Foreman on 'I Propose A Toast'
Delving behind the track's meaning, Foreman said in a statement: "'I Propose A Toast' is a song to be sung at the end of a beautiful night with friends. It's a refrain born of the paradox of humanity: recognizing both the pain and the beauty."
"The darkness, and the light," he continued. "I wanted a song that would embrace the truth of where we are, and the roads that brought us here."
Alongside the arrival of the new song, a stunning lyric video for "I Propose A Toast" was also released featuring breathtaking sceneries of friendships being forged in front of gorgeous backdrops of nature, showered by the orange-hued rays of a setting sun.
