Tom Holland's West End Return, Following Break
Holland is fresh off of an 8-month-long break, announcing his mental health reprieve in June of last year during an interview with Extra. The actor will take on the Shakespearean role as his first acting gig since returning.
The young actor is perhaps most known as the current masked superhero icon that is "Spiderman," alongside his appearances as an action star in other franchises like "Uncharted."
Despite his inclination to lead in action-packed projects in Hollywood, Holland has an established history with theatre, especially after his West End debut performance in "Billy Elliot The Musical" where he played the titular character's friend Michael.
Later in the run of that particular production, Holland also starred as Billy. The upcoming stint as Romeo will be the actor's second appearance in the famed London theatre strip.
He will take after many high-profile stars who have starred as Romeo, including Sir Ian McKellen, Sean Bean, "Harry Potter" actor Alfred Enoch, and "Bodyguard" star Richard Madden.
Alongside Lloyd's company, David Binder Productions will also produce the forthcoming stage revival.
