Gwen Stefani Says She'd Be "Blessed" to Have a Gay Son

Now ,there's one more reason to love Gwen Stefani. Obviously, it can be incredibly scary for a child to come out to his or her parents, but The Voice mentor for team Blake shows that she is an amazing open-minded mom when she revealed how blessed she would feel if one of her three sons came out to her as gay.

“I would be blessed with a gay son,” she told Pride Source on March 25. “You know that I would feel blessed about that. I just want my boys to be happy and healthy, and I just ask God to guide me every day to be a good mother because it is not an easy job.”

Stefani added, "I just want my kids to be happy, and whatever journey God gives them is their journey. I just need to be there to be the most supportive mom that I can be and that's what I'm gonna be."

The 46-year-old No Doubt singer has plenty of gay friends and admitted she has asked them how they felt as little boys to gain a better perspective on what could be a difficult situation for a child.

"I do know that it's gotta be difficult to be the alternative, to not be the mainstream, or to be different, if you want to call it that," she shared. "I feel like it's less and less (like that) these days, and it's hard for me to understand because it doesn't seem different or weird or anything anymore because it just seems so normal to me."

Stefani has three sons with Bush rocker Gavin Rossdale, 9-year-old Kingston, 7-year-old Apollo and 2-year-old Zuma. She ended her 13 year marriage to Rossdale after discovering he had cheated on her with their nanny. Stefani started dating Blake Shelton a few months later, after they spent time together on the singing competition show.
